Perform routine maintenance and repair work on water and wastewater pipelines in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols.
Conduct regular inspections of pipelines to identify potential issues and address them promptly.
Collaborate with other members of the pipeline maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
Keep accurate records of maintenance work performed and report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate supervisor.
Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the safe operation of pipelines.
Troubleshoot and repair various types of pipeline equipment and machinery.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate pipeline maintenance and repair activities.
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and new technologies related to pipeline maintenance.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations for streamlining pipeline maintenance procedures.
Respond to emergency situations and perform necessary repairs to minimize service disruptions.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to all city and department policies and procedures.
Train and mentor new pipeline technicians as needed.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Attend regular training and development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in pipeline maintenance.

Job Qualifications

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For A Aw Pipeline Technician Worker Position At The City Of Austin. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Reading, Writing, And Math Skills Necessary For The Job.
