  1. Collaborate with the Director of Transportation Planning to develop and implement long-term transportation plans for the city.
  2. Lead and manage a team of transportation planners, engineers, and other professionals to achieve department goals and objectives.
  3. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with city officials, stakeholders, and community members to ensure the transportation plans align with the needs and values of the community.
  4. Conduct extensive research and analysis to identify transportation needs and trends in the city.
  5. Utilize data and analytical tools to evaluate the effectiveness of existing transportation systems and propose improvements.
  6. Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainable and equitable transportation options.
  7. Monitor and track progress of transportation projects and initiatives, and report on key performance metrics to city leadership.
  8. Stay current on industry advancements, best practices, and regulations related to transportation planning.
  9. Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to coordinate transportation planning efforts and ensure alignment with overall city goals.
  10. Communicate effectively and present transportation plans and initiatives to various stakeholders and the public.
  11. Develop and manage department budget and resources to ensure efficient and effective use of city funds.
  12. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of growth and development within the department.
  13. Represent the city in regional and national transportation planning forums and conferences.
  14. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to transportation planning.
  15. Continuously seek feedback and ideas from community members and stakeholders to inform transportation planning decisions.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Transportation Planning, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Transportation Planning Laws, Regulations, And Policies.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, Including The Ability To Lead And Coordinate Multiple Projects Simultaneously.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Stakeholders And Present Complex Information To Diverse Audiences.
