
VP- HMDA Exception Manager and MIS Support

- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of HMDA regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the HMDA exception process, including identifying and resolving exceptions, conducting quality control checks, and ensuring timely submissions.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Legal, Compliance, and Risk, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of HMDA data.
- Stay informed about changes in HMDA regulations and provide recommendations for process and system improvements to ensure compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all HMDA-related inquiries and provide guidance and support to colleagues across the organization.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting of HMDA data.
- Monitor and analyze HMDA data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas of risk.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive MIS reports to track and report on HMDA data and compliance.
- Provide training and support to team members on HMDA regulations, processes, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in audits and examinations related to HMDA data and provide necessary support and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all HMDA data and related processes.
- Ensure data integrity by conducting regular audits and reconciliations of HMDA data.
- Proactively identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in HMDA data and reporting.
- Continuously assess and improve the HMDA exception process and MIS support to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Represent the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner to external parties, including regulators, auditors, and industry groups.
Extensive Knowledge Of Hmda Regulations And Reporting Requirements: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Hmda) And Be Well-Versed In The Latest Regulations And Reporting Guidelines Set By The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (Cfpb).
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Large Volumes Of Data And Identify Any Discrepancies Or Errors. The Vp-Hmda Exception Manager Should Be Able To Use Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills To Resolve Any Issues And Ensure Accurate Reporting.
Experience With Data Management And Reporting Systems: Candidates Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Data Management And Reporting Systems, Such As Encompass, Ellie Mae, Or Similar Systems. Experience With Sql, Tableau, Or Other Reporting Tools Is Also Highly Desirable.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Vp-Hmda Exception Manager, The Candidate Will Be Required To Work Closely With Various Teams, Including Compliance, Risk, And It. Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential To Effectively Communicate Findings And Collaborate With Team Members.
Prior Management Or Supervisory Experience: This Role May Involve Overseeing A Team Of Analysts Or Support Staff. Previous Experience In A Managerial Or Supervisory Role Is Preferred, Along With The Ability To Mentor And Train Team Members.
