  1. Conduct extensive research and analysis on commodities markets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for investment.
  2. Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate and forecast the performance of commodities.
  3. Utilize advanced statistical methods and programming languages to analyze large datasets and produce actionable insights.
  4. Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers, and other team members to develop and implement trading strategies.
  5. Monitor and report on market developments and provide recommendations for risk management and portfolio optimization.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry news, regulations, and market changes to inform trading decisions.
  7. Communicate complex quantitative analysis and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of analysis.
  9. Work closely with technology teams to develop and maintain tools and platforms for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  10. Mentor and train junior team members on quantitative analysis techniques and methodologies.
  11. Adhere to all compliance and regulatory guidelines in all work and decision-making.
  12. Continuously evaluate and update models and methodologies to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  13. Participate in cross-functional projects and collaborate with other teams within the organization.
  14. Proactively identify and address potential risks and issues in the commodities market.
  15. Represent the organization at industry conferences and events to stay informed and network with other professionals in the field.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Quantitative Field: A Commodities Quantitative Analyst At Citigroup Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Fields Such As Mathematics, Statistics, Or Finance. This Advanced Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Mathematical And Statistical Modeling Techniques Necessary For Analyzing Complex Commodity Markets.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Successful Commodities Quantitative Analyst Must Have Strong Analytical Skills To Gather And Interpret Large Sets Of Data. They Should Also Have The Ability To Identify Patterns, Trends, And Outliers In Data, And Use This Information To Develop Strategies For Trading Commodities.

  • Knowledge Of Financial Markets And Commodities: The Ideal Candidate For A Commodities Quantitative Analyst Position At Citigroup Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Financial Markets And The Commodities Industry. They Should Be Familiar With Current Trends, Regulations, And Market Dynamics That Impact Commodity Pricing And Trading.

  • Programming And Technical Skills: As A Commodities Quantitative Analyst, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Programming Languages Such As Python, R, And Sql. They Should Also Have Experience Working With Data Visualization Tools, Statistical Software, And Financial Modeling Platforms.

  • Experience In Risk Management: A Commodities Quantitative Analyst Should Be Able To Assess And Manage Risks Associated With Trading Commodities. This Includes Developing Risk Management Strategies, Implementing Risk Models, And Conducting Stress Tests To Identify Potential Risks And Their Impact On The Portfolio.
