- Provide legal support and guidance to the commercial banking business at Citi.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in the banking industry.
- Advise on legal risks and implications of business decisions and strategies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and other third parties.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay updated on changes in laws and regulations impacting the commercial banking industry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance and risk management, to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Represent the commercial banking business in legal proceedings and negotiations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external legal partners.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and proactively identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
- Train and educate commercial banking staff on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and supervise a team of legal professionals.

Extensive Experience In Commercial Banking: A Successful Lead Counsel At Citi Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Commercial Banking Practices, Regulations, And Industry Trends. They Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role Within A Reputable Financial Institution.
Strong Legal Knowledge And Skills: A Lead Counsel Must Possess A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree And Be A Licensed Attorney In The Jurisdiction Where They Will Be Working. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Providing Sound Legal Advice And Managing Complex Legal Issues In The Commercial Banking Sector.
Leadership And Management Abilities: As A Lead Counsel, One Must Have The Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Of Lawyers And Support Staff Effectively. They Should Have Excellent Communication Skills, Be Able To Delegate Tasks, And Provide Guidance And Mentorship To Team Members.
