  1. Lead the development of coherent optical transmission systems for the Acacia product line.
  2. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and advancements in digital signal processing to drive innovation in the field of optical networking.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement and test DSP algorithms for optical communication systems.
  4. Develop and maintain high-quality code and documentation for DSP algorithms.
  5. Mentor and guide team members, providing technical expertise and leadership to ensure project success.
  6. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions.
  7. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
  8. Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of DSP algorithms to optimize performance and efficiency.
  9. Collaborate with product management and marketing teams to understand customer needs and develop solutions accordingly.
  10. Represent the company at industry conferences and events to showcase our technological advancements.
  11. Continuously improve and update existing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  12. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  13. Contribute to the development and execution of long-term strategic plans for the Acacia product line.
  14. Stay updated on patent filings and intellectual property in the field of optical networking.
  15. Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to other departments within the company.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Coherent Optical Transmission Systems: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess Deep Technical Knowledge And Practical Experience Working With Coherent Optical Transmission Systems, Including Dwdm And Roadm Technologies.

  • Strong Background In Digital Signal Processing (Dsp): A Thorough Understanding Of Dsp Techniques And Algorithms Is Essential For This Role, As The Principal Dsp Engineer Will Be Responsible For Developing And Optimizing Dsp Algorithms For High-Speed Coherent Optical Systems.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successful Product Development: Cisco Systems Is Looking For A Principal Dsp Engineer With A Strong Track Record Of Delivering Successful Products In The Field Of Coherent Optical Transmission Systems. This Includes Experience With All Stages Of The Product Development Lifecycle, From Concept To Commercialization.

  • Advanced Degree In Electrical Engineering, Optics, Or A Related Field: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Electrical Engineering, Optics, Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. A Phd Is Preferred, As Well As A Strong Academic Background In Signal Processing And/Or Optics.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Principal Dsp Engineer, You Will Be Expected To Work Closely With Cross-Functional Teams, Including R&D, Product Management, And Sales. Strong Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential To Effectively Collaborate With These Teams And Drive Projects To Completion.
