- Lead the design and development of high-performance networking ASICs for Cisco's Silicon One team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and system engineers to deliver innovative and industry-leading solutions.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify new technologies and trends in networking architecture and ASIC design to inform product development.
- Develop and implement design methodologies and best practices for ASIC development.
- Create detailed technical specifications and documentation for ASIC designs.
- Perform performance analysis and optimization of ASIC designs to ensure they meet or exceed industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Work closely with product managers to understand customer requirements and translate them into ASIC design specifications.
- Participate in the development of project timelines and coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery of ASIC designs.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the design process to increase efficiency and quality.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in networking ASIC technology.
- Communicate and present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure successful integration of ASIC designs.
- Troubleshoot and debug any issues that arise during the ASIC development process.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations related to ASIC design and development.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Networking Protocols And Standards: A Successful Networking Asic Architect Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Networking Protocols Such As Tcp/Ip, Mpls, Bgp, And Ospf. They Should Also Be Familiar With Industry Standards Such As Ieee, Ietf, And Itu-T.
Extensive Experience In Asic Design And Architecture: This Role Requires A Deep Understanding Of Asic Design And Architecture Principles, Including High-Speed And Low-Power Design Techniques, System-Level Integration, And Verification Methodologies.
Proficiency In Programming Languages And Tools: Strong Programming Skills In Languages Such As Vhdl, Verilog, And C/C++ Are Essential For Developing And Debugging Complex Asic Designs. Experience With Eda Tools And Scripting Languages Is Also Highly Desirable.
Knowledge Of Cisco Networking Products And Solutions: Having A Thorough Understanding Of Cisco's Product Portfolio, Including Switches, Routers, And Data Center Solutions, Is Crucial To Designing Asics That Meet The Company's Specific Networking Requirements.
Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Key Member Of The Cisco Silicon One Team, The Networking Asic Architect Must Be Able To Lead Cross-Functional Teams, Collaborate With Other Architects And Engineers, And Effectively Communicate Complex Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
