Job Description

Cisco Systems is seeking an innovative, experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Quantum Research Team as Head of Quantum Research. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the quantum research field, and the ability to lead a team of quantum researchers to develop new technologies and solutions. We are looking for a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is passionate about quantum research and can bring fresh ideas to the table.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Quantum Computing or Physics, plus 5+ years of experience in the quantum research field. Additionally, we are looking for someone with superior communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of scientists and engineers. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of the latest quantum technologies and the ability to develop and implement strategies to advance the research.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of quantum researchers to develop new technologies and solutions.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to advance the research.
  3. Keep up-to-date on the latest quantum technologies and trends.
  4. Manage research projects and ensure deadlines are met.
  5. Provide guidance and coaching to team members.
  6. Develop effective communication and collaboration strategies with other teams and departments.
  7. Analyze data and identify opportunities for further research.
  8. Document research findings and present them to other departments.
  9. Work closely with upper management to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  10. Foster an environment of innovation and creativity.
