  1. Perform nuclear medicine procedures and tests on patients according to established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in nuclear medicine procedures.
  3. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients as directed by physicians.
  4. Monitor patients during procedures and report any adverse reactions or complications.
  5. Ensure patient safety by following proper radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
  7. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging techniques and procedures.
  8. Educate patients about the procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  9. Maintain inventory and order necessary supplies for nuclear medicine procedures.
  10. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  11. Continuously stay updated on advances in nuclear medicine technology and procedures.
  12. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  13. Provide exceptional patient care and maintain a high level of compassion and empathy.
  14. Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  15. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  16. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  17. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  18. Proactively identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
  19. Assist with the training and orientation of new nuclear med techs.
  20. Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or Related Field: Chi St. Alexius Health Requires All Nuclear Med Tech Applicants To Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Comprehensive Education And Training In The Field.

  • Certification By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) Or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb): Chi St. Alexius Health Requires All Nuclear Med Techs To Hold A Valid Certification From Either The Arrt Or Nmtcb. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Passed A Rigorous Exam And Is Qualified To Perform Nuclear Medicine Procedures.

  • State Licensure: Candidates Must Also Hold A Valid State License To Practice As A Nuclear Med Tech. This Ensures That The Candidate Meets All Necessary Requirements And Is Authorized To Perform Nuclear Imaging Procedures In The State.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting: Chi St. Alexius Health Prefers Candidates With A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Specific Demands And Protocols Of Working In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Nuclear Medicine Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Nuclear Medicine Procedures And Equipment, Including Pet/Ct, Spect/Ct, And Gamma Cameras. This Includes Knowledge Of Radiation Safety, Image Acquisition, And Processing Techniques.

About CHI St. Alexius Health

The CHI St. Alexius Health regional healthcare system was formed in April 2016, when several Catholic Health Initiative healthcare facilities joined together to form the largest healthcare delivery system in central and western North Dakota. The system is comprised of a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, and critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. CHI St. Alexius Health also manages five CAHs in North Dakota which are located in the communities of Ashley, Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics in Mobridge, SD.
