Job Description

At CHI St. Alexius Health, we are looking for a Mental Health Technician to join our team of dedicated professionals and provide exceptional care to our patients. This role requires a compassionate individual with great communication and interpersonal skills, who is committed to providing quality mental health services to individuals in need. The Mental Health Technician will be responsible for providing direct patient care, aiding in the development of treatment plans, and participating in therapeutic activities.To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a mental health setting. In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, familiarity with mental health terminology and treatments, and a strong understanding of the principles of therapeutic patient care.If you are a compassionate individual wanting to make a difference in the lives of our patients, then we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct patient care and assist in development of treatment plans.
  2. Participate in therapeutic activities to support patient care.
  3. Maintain appropriate communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Utilize mental health terminology and treatments effectively.
  5. Demonstrate understanding of the principles of therapeutic patient care.
  6. Follow the policies and procedures of the mental health facility.
  7. Monitor patient progress and document patient care.
  8. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients.
  9. Assist with medication administration and management.
  10. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

The CHI St. Alexius Health regional healthcare system was formed in April 2016, when several Catholic Health Initiative healthcare facilities joined together to form the largest healthcare delivery system in central and western North Dakota.
