Job Description

CHI St. Alexius Health is looking for a Medical Records Clerk who is highly organized, efficient, and has a passion for helping people. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining patient information and ensuring accuracy of medical records. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Required Qualifications:• Previous experience working in a medical office setting, preferably within the health care industry.• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, electronic medical records systems, and other related software.• Ability to accurately enter and update patient information into the system.• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with patients in a professional manner.• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information in the medical records system.
  2. Ensure the confidentiality of patient records by adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  3. Enter and update patient information into the system accurately and promptly.
  4. Assist in the retrieval of medical records as requested.
  5. Respond to inquiries regarding medical records from patients, providers, and other staff.
  6. Assist in training new staff members on the medical records system and related software.
  7. Maintain a filing system for all medical records.
  8. Monitor and track patient medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for medical records.
  10. Monitor the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  11. Assist with other administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
