  1. Manage and lead a team of nurses in the intensive care unit.
  2. Oversee patient care and ensure that all protocols and procedures are followed.
  3. Monitor and assess patient conditions and provide necessary interventions.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  5. Educate and train staff on best practices for critical care and patient outcomes.
  6. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  8. Serve as a resource and support for staff, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  9. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  11. Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in critical care nursing.
  12. Demonstrate strong leadership skills and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  13. Attend and participate in meetings and committees related to the intensive care unit.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position To Ensure A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice.

  • Current Rn Licensure: A Valid And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of North Dakota Is Required For This Position.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Icu Experience: The Ideal Candidate Will Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Icu Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Critical Care Nursing Principles And Procedures.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: This Position Requires The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team Of Nurses In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment. Previous Experience In A Charge Nurse Or Supervisory Role Is Preferred.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For This Role, As The Icu Charge Rn Will Be Responsible For Responding To Medical Emergencies And Providing Life-Saving Interventions.

The CHI St. Alexius Health regional healthcare system was formed in April 2016, when several Catholic Health Initiative healthcare facilities joined together to form the largest healthcare delivery system in central and western North Dakota. The system is comprised of a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, and critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services.
