Job Description

At Charter Communications, we are looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (Network) to join our team! Our Lead Site Reliability Engineer will be a key member of our Network Operations team and will specialize in developing strategies and solutions for improving the reliability and scalability of our network. The ideal candidate for this position will have an in-depth understanding of networking technologies and a proven track record of success in developing and executing reliable, efficient, and secure network solutions. They should also have outstanding communication and collaboration skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for problem-solving. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are looking for an exciting, challenging role, we encourage you to apply!Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, site reliability engineering, or a related field• Expert-level understanding of network technologies (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security)• Extensive experience with automation and scripting (e.g. Python, Bash, and PowerShell)• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Excellent communication and collaboration skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g. Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure) is a plus

Responsibilities of a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (Network):

  1. Develop and execute strategies and solutions for improving the reliability and scalability of the network.
  2. Monitor and analyze network performance and identify areas of improvement.
  3. Develop automation and scripting tools for streamlining network operations.
  4. Design, implement, and maintain network security policies.
  5. Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Work closely with the Network Operations team to ensure that network systems are functioning optimally.
  7. Research and evaluate new technologies for potential use in network systems.
  8. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
  9. Troubleshoot network issues and identify solutions to resolve them.
  10. Develop and document best practices for network operations.
