  1. Install and maintain fiber optic network infrastructure, including cables, connectors, and related equipment.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair any issues with the fiber optic network, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  3. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of existing fiber optic network to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  4. Assist with the expansion and upgrade of the fiber optic network as needed.
  5. Collaborate with other technicians and teams to complete projects and resolve complex technical issues.
  6. Keep accurate records of all work performed, including any changes or updates made to the fiber optic network.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in fiber optic technology to continuously improve network performance.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Fiber Optic Technology: A Fiber Technician At Charter Communications Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Fiber Optic Technology, Including Installation, Maintenance, And Troubleshooting.

  • Experience With Fiber Optic Equipment: Candidates Should Have Experience Working With A Variety Of Fiber Optic Equipment, Such As Fusion Splicers, Optical Power Meters, And Otdrs.

  • Ability To Read And Interpret Blueprints: A Fiber Technician Must Be Able To Read And Interpret Blueprints To Determine The Best Route For Fiber Optic Cables And To Identify Potential Obstacles Or Challenges In The Installation Process.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For A Fiber Technician, As This Role Often Requires Working Closely With Other Team Members, As Well As Communicating With Customers And Providing Technical Support.

  • Attention To Detail: Fiber Optic Installations Require Precision And Attention To Detail To Ensure That The Network Is Functioning Properly. A Fiber Technician Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Instructions Accurately.
