
Staff Attorney, Schwab Charitable
Draft, negotiate, and review agreements, contracts, other legal documents and build standard forms as necessary; interact with key clients and stakeholders Provide legal advice and counsel to contract manager and assist with contract management program, as needed. Monitor and advise of changes in applicable law, rules, guidance, and supervisory systems and industry trends to maintain appropriate standards. Provide appropriate counsel and mentorship to identify and mitigate potential risk or significant negative impact to the charity. Work closely with cross-functional business partners, as part of a dynamic legal team, in support of Schwab Charitable’s clients and advisors. Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standard processes and advise business divisions and senior management of potential legal risks and implications of the same.
At least 5+ years of transactional experience with either a U.S. law firm and/or in-house legal department
Experience representing a public charity and/or experience working for a financial services company preferred
Confirmed ability to establish foundations for influence, building credibility and open, unquestioning relationships
Knowledge of investment oversight is a plus
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond to shifting requirements and business obstacles
