- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures for the retail wealth management division in accordance with industry regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify any potential compliance issues and address them in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in regulatory requirements and communicate any updates or changes to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization, such as legal, risk management, and operations, to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive compliance program.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the compliance program and make recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as the main point of contact for any regulatory inquiries or audits related to the retail wealth management division.
- Investigate and report any compliance violations or breaches, and work with relevant parties to address and resolve them.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of compliance activities, and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Act as a trusted advisor and resource for the retail wealth management team, providing guidance and support on compliance matters.
- Foster a culture of compliance and ethics within the organization, promoting a strong commitment to upholding regulatory standards and ethical practices.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance the compliance program to ensure it is aligned with industry best practices and evolving regulatory requirements.
Knowledge Of Financial Industry Regulations: The Director Of Retail Wealth Management Compliance At Charles Schwab Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Relevant Regulations, Such As Finra, Sec, And Cfpb Rules.
Experience In Compliance And Risk Management: Candidates For This Position Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In A Compliance Or Risk Management Role Within The Financial Services Industry.
Strong Leadership Skills: As A Director, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Compliance Professionals. They Should Have Proven Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Motivate And Mentor Team Members.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Compliance Issues To Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Management And Regulators, Is Essential For This Role.
Bachelor's Degree In Related Field: A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Finance, Business, Or Law, Is Typically Required For This Position. Advanced Degrees And Relevant Certifications, Such As Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (Crcm), Are Preferred.
