- Develop and implement risk management strategies for Alternative Investments products in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and data to identify potential risks and develop proactive solutions.
- Oversee the risk assessment process for new Alternative Investments products, including conducting due diligence and evaluating potential risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
- Lead risk management training and education initiatives for team members and other departments within the company.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends in risk management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Communicate risk management strategies and findings to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Manage a team of risk analysts and provide guidance and support to ensure the effective execution of risk management initiatives.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management within the Alternative Investments team.
Strong Understanding Of Alternative Investments: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Alternative Investments, Including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate, And Commodities. They Should Be Able To Analyze And Assess The Risks Associated With These Investments And Develop Strategies To Mitigate Them.
Experience In Risk Management: A Centralized Risk Supervisor For Alternative Investments At Charles Schwab Should Have Experience In Risk Management, Preferably In The Financial Services Industry. They Should Be Familiar With Risk Assessment Techniques, Such As Stress Testing And Scenario Analysis, And Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Risk In A Fast-Paced And Dynamic Environment.
Strong Analytical Skills: This Role Requires A High Level Of Analytical Skills, Including The Ability To Interpret Complex Financial Data And Identify Potential Risks. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Develop Risk Models And Effectively Communicate Their Findings To Stakeholders At All Levels Of The Organization.
Regulatory Knowledge: The Financial Industry Is Heavily Regulated, And A Centralized Risk Supervisor For Alternative Investments Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Relevant Regulations, Such As The Investment Advisers Act And The Dodd-Frank Act. They Should Be Able To Ensure Compliance With These Regulations And Proactively Identify Any Potential Compliance Issues.
Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Supervisor, This Role Requires Strong Leadership And Communication Skills. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Manage A Team, Delegate Tasks, And Provide Guidance And Support. They Should Also Be Able To Communicate Complex Risk Information In A Clear And Concise Manner To Senior Management And Other Stakeholders.
