  1. Oversee the overall residential experience for students, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that aligns with the values of Chapman University.
  2. Serve as a role model and resource for students, providing guidance and support in their personal and academic growth.
  3. Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote community building, academic success, and student well-being.
  4. Manage and supervise a team of resident advisors, providing guidance and support in their roles and responsibilities.
  5. Conduct regular meetings and training sessions with resident advisors to ensure consistency and quality in programming and support.
  6. Collaborate with other university departments, such as student affairs and academic departments, to coordinate and enhance the overall student experience.
  7. Respond to and address student concerns, conflicts, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and incidents.
  9. Manage the residential budget, including overseeing expenditures and ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
  10. Stay current on best practices and trends in student development and residential life, and incorporate them into programming and support.
  11. Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the residential community.
  12. Serve as a liaison between students and university administration, advocating for the needs and concerns of students.
  13. Participate in on-call duties and respond to emergencies as needed.
  14. Adhere to all university policies and procedures and ensure that residents are aware of and follow these policies.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve the residential experience for students, seeking feedback and implementing changes as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Higher Education, Student Affairs, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Student Housing Or Residential Life At A College Or University.

  • Strong Understanding Of Student Development Theories And Ability To Apply Them In A Diverse And Inclusive Environment.

  • Proven Leadership And Supervisory Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Mentor A Team Of Resident Advisors.

  • Excellent Communication, Conflict Resolution, And Crisis Management Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Campus Partners And Students.
