- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan for the colleges and schools within Chapman University, in alignment with the overall university's strategic goals and objectives.
- Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with potential donors, including alumni, parents, corporations, and foundations, to secure major gifts and support for the colleges and schools.
- Collaborate with academic deans and faculty members to identify fundraising priorities and initiatives that align with the needs and goals of each college and school.
- Serve as a key liaison between the university and the colleges and schools, providing regular updates and reports on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and partnership opportunities.
- Plan and execute fundraising events and initiatives, such as donor receptions, alumni reunions, and giving campaigns, to engage and solicit support from the Chapman community.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the academic programs, research initiatives, and student experiences within each college and school in order to effectively communicate the impact of philanthropic support.
- Collaborate with university leadership and development colleagues to identify and pursue cross-campus funding opportunities and partnerships.
- Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities, to meet fundraising goals and objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in higher education fundraising to bring innovative and effective strategies to the role.
- Lead and mentor a team of development professionals, providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure their success in securing philanthropic support for the colleges and schools.
A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Fundraising And Development For Higher Education Institutions, With A Proven Track Record Of Securing Major Gifts And Cultivating Relationships With Donors.
A Strong Understanding Of The Higher Education Landscape, With Knowledge Of Trends, Challenges, And Opportunities In College And School Development.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate And Build Relationships With Internal And External Stakeholders, Including Faculty, Staff, Alumni, And Community Members.
A Strategic And Results-Driven Mindset, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Comprehensive Fundraising Plans And Initiatives That Align With The University's Goals And Priorities.
A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Philanthropy, Business, Or Communications, And Preferably A Master's Degree Or Other Advanced Education In A Related Field. Professional Certifications, Such As Certified Fund Raising Executive (Cfre), May Also Be Preferred.
