As the Associate Director, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the museum and ensuring a high-quality experience for our visitors.   1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Hilbert Museum of California Art.
  2. Ensure a high-quality experience for all visitors by maintaining a welcoming and well-maintained museum environment.
  3. Manage and lead a team of museum staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  4. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the museum.
  5. Collaborate with other museum departments, such as education and curatorial, to ensure seamless operations and programming.
  6. Monitor and manage the museum's budget, including forecasting and reporting on financial performance.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners to support museum operations.
  8. Oversee the physical maintenance and security of the museum, including coordinating cleaning and maintenance schedules.
  9. Coordinate and manage exhibition installation and deinstallation, including coordinating with artists and lenders.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and safety regulations.
  11. Assist with fundraising and development efforts to support museum operations and initiatives.
  12. Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in museum operations and implement changes as needed.
  13. Promote the museum's mission and vision through various marketing and outreach initiatives.
  14. Participate in strategic planning and goal-setting for the museum.
  15. Represent the museum at community events and functions.
  16. Uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Museum Studies, Art History, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Museum Operations And Management.

  • Knowledge Of Best Practices In Collections Management, Preservation, And Exhibition Planning.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders Such As Curators, Artists, And Donors.
