- Obtain and verify necessary patient information and medical history for scheduling and pre-operative preparations.
- Update and maintain accurate surgery schedules and patient records.
- Collaborate with other departments and staff to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of surgeries.
- Arrange necessary pre-operative tests and appointments for patients.
- Educate patients on pre-operative instructions and answer any questions or concerns.
- Coordinate with insurance companies and obtain necessary authorizations for surgeries.
- Assist in managing and resolving any scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor and track surgical supply inventory and order necessary supplies.
- Continuously review and improve scheduling processes to optimize efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as required.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Proficiency In Medical Terminology And Documentation: As A Surgery Scheduler At Catholic Health Initiatives, It Is Essential To Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And The Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information In Accordance With Hipaa Regulations.
