  1. Conduct coding compliance audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of coding practices within the organization.
  2. Utilize coding guidelines, regulations, and auditing methodologies to assess and identify areas of non-compliance.
  3. Collaborate with coding and billing teams to develop and implement corrective action plans to address identified issues.
  4. Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  5. Monitor coding and billing processes to identify potential areas of risk and provide recommendations for improvement.
  6. Train and educate coding and billing staff on compliance standards and regulations to promote ethical and compliant coding practices.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed audit records, including findings and recommendations for corrective action.
  8. Communicate audit results and provide recommendations to leadership and other stakeholders.
  9. Serve as a subject matter expert on coding compliance and provide guidance and support to other team members.
  10. Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and investigations.
  11. Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop strategies to enhance coding compliance practices.
  12. Participate in developing and updating coding compliance policies and procedures.
  13. Assist with coding and billing audits for potential mergers and acquisitions.
  14. Uphold the mission and values of the organization and promote a culture of compliance and ethical coding practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Coding Compliance Auditing, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Familiarity With Relevant Coding Guidelines And Regulations, Such As Icd-10, Cpt, And Hipaa.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, As Well As Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
