  1. Accurately code medical records using ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and other relevant coding resources.
  2. Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to identify and document all relevant diagnoses and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient conditions and treatments.
  4. Stay up-to-date on coding and documentation guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  5. Analyze and report coding and documentation trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert on risk adjustment coding and assist with training and education for other team members.
  7. Monitor and review coding discrepancies and work with providers to resolve any issues.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information.
  9. Adhere to all coding and documentation policies and procedures.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.
  11. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely coding.
  12. Collaborate with other departments to support risk adjustment initiatives and goals.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized records of coding activities.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth within the field of risk adjustment coding.
  15. Promote a positive and professional image of Catholic Health Initiatives and its mission to provide compassionate and high-quality healthcare services.

Job Qualifications
  • Coding Certification: A Minimum Of One Coding Certification Is Required, Such As Cpc, Ccs, Or Crc, To Demonstrate Proficiency In Medical Coding And Billing.

  • Knowledge Of Risk Adjustment: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Risk Adjustment Methodologies And Coding Guidelines, Including Hccs And Raf Scores.

  • Experience In Medical Coding: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Medical Coding, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is Required For This Role.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Risk Adjustment Coder, Accuracy And Attention To Detail Are Crucial To Ensure Proper Coding And Billing For Accurate Reimbursement.

  • Proficiency In Emr Systems: Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record (Emr) Systems, Such As Epic Or Cerner, Is Necessary For Navigating Patient Records And Accurately Coding Diagnoses And Procedures.
