  1. Conduct respiratory assessments, including gathering patient history and performing diagnostic tests, to determine appropriate treatment plan.
  2. Administer various respiratory therapies, such as oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and nebulizer treatments, as prescribed by physicians.
  3. Monitor and adjust respiratory equipment, such as ventilators and oxygen tanks, as needed to ensure proper functioning and patient comfort.
  4. Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and proper use of equipment.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all treatments and interventions.
  7. Stay current on advancements and changes in respiratory therapy practices and techniques.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
  9. Provide support and guidance to less experienced respiratory therapists and students.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, promoting a positive and compassionate atmosphere.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to creating a culture of continuous improvement.
  12. Adhere to all CHI policies and procedures, including those related to patient privacy and confidentiality.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy: Catholic Health Initiatives Requires All Registered Respiratory Therapists To Hold A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy, Or A Related Field, From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current Rrt Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) Certification From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).

  • State Licensure: All Applicants Must Possess A Valid State License To Practice As A Respiratory Therapist. This License Must Be In Good Standing And Meet All State Requirements.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience: Catholic Health Initiatives Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting. This Experience Should Include Both Adult And Pediatric Respiratory Care.

  • Cpr And Bls Certification: Candidates Must Be Certified In Cpr And Basic Life Support (Bls) From The American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification Is Also Preferred.
