  1. Collect blood samples from patients using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  2. Label and properly store all blood samples for testing.
  3. Verify patient information and ensure proper identification before collecting samples.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized.
  5. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns or questions.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely collection of samples.
  8. Accurately record and report patient information and test results.
  9. Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  10. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and inform supervisor when restocking is needed.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards related to patient confidentiality.
  12. Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education opportunities.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  14. Work efficiently and effectively under pressure, meeting all productivity and time-sensitive goals.
  15. Follow all organizational policies and procedures to maintain a safe and professional work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Formal Phlebotomy Program From An Accredited Institution To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Role.

  • Certification As A Phlebotomist: Catholic Health Initiatives May Require Candidates To Hold A Valid Certification From A Recognized Phlebotomy Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Laboratory Or Blood Collection Facility. This Experience Will Demonstrate Their Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Safety Protocols, And Patient Care.

  • Familiarity With Catholic Health Initiatives' Policies And Procedures: Catholic Health Initiatives May Prioritize Candidates Who Are Familiar With The Organization's Policies And Procedures, As This Will Allow For A Smoother Transition Into The Role And Ensure Consistency In Patient Care.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Phlebotomy Involves Working Closely With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Laboratory Staff. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Individuals From Diverse Backgrounds And Maintain A High Level Of Professionalism In All Interactions.
