- Collect blood samples from patients using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Label and properly store all blood samples for testing.
- Verify patient information and ensure proper identification before collecting samples.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely collection of samples.
- Accurately record and report patient information and test results.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and inform supervisor when restocking is needed.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards related to patient confidentiality.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Work efficiently and effectively under pressure, meeting all productivity and time-sensitive goals.
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Formal Phlebotomy Program From An Accredited Institution To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Role.
Certification As A Phlebotomist: Catholic Health Initiatives May Require Candidates To Hold A Valid Certification From A Recognized Phlebotomy Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Laboratory Or Blood Collection Facility. This Experience Will Demonstrate Their Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Safety Protocols, And Patient Care.
