Patient Care Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and help us provide quality care to our patients. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting nurses and other healthcare personnel in providing patient care and maintaining a safe and clean environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have outstanding communication skills, an understanding of medical terminology, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Responsibilities:

1. Assist nurses and other healthcare personnel with providing patient care, such as taking vital signs, changing bed linens, feeding patients, and providing emotional support.
2. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
3. Respond to patient needs promptly and courteously.
4. Accurately document patient care information in the electronic medical records system.
5. Operate equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, and oxygen tanks safely and properly.
6. Follow all safety protocols and adhere to CHI policies.
7. Participate in patient education activities and help patients and family members understand their conditions and treatments.
8. Assist with stocking supplies, retrieving medical records, and other administrative tasks as needed.
9. Work collaboratively with all members of the medical team to ensure the best possible patient care.
10. Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and privacy.
