
Neurodiagnostic Technician

- Conduct neurodiagnostic tests: Perform a variety of neurodiagnostic tests, including electroencephalograms (EEGs), evoked potentials (EPs), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and electromyograms (EMGs), to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring neurological disorders.
- Monitor patients: Monitor patients during neurodiagnostic tests, ensuring their comfort and safety, and accurately recording and reporting any abnormal findings to the physician.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure all neurodiagnostic equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and cleaned according to hospital and manufacturer guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians: Work closely with physicians to obtain patient medical histories, discuss test results, and provide input on patient care plans.
- Educate patients: Explain neurodiagnostic procedures to patients and answer any questions or concerns they may have, providing reassurance and support throughout the process.
- Document and report results: Record and document test results accurately and efficiently, and report any critical findings to the physician in a timely manner.
- Ensure patient confidentiality: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Stay current with industry developments: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in neurodiagnostic technology and techniques, and attend training and educational sessions as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment: Follow all safety and infection control protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, and communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field: A Degree In Neurodiagnostic Technology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Position.
Certification In Eeg, Ep, Or Other Neurodiagnostic Testing: Candidates Should Hold Certification From The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret) Or Similar Organization.
Experience In Performing Neurodiagnostic Tests: Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Conducting Eegs, Eps, Or Other Neurodiagnostic Tests Is Highly Desirable.
Knowledge Of Neuroanatomy And Physiology: A Thorough Understanding Of The Nervous System And How It Functions Is Essential For Accurately Interpreting Test Results And Identifying Abnormalities.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Neurodiagnostic Technicians Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As Work Well In A Team Environment.
