- Perform quality assurance testing on radiation therapy equipment to ensure accurate and safe treatment delivery for patients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy, working closely with the radiation oncologist and other members of the treatment team.
- Monitor radiation doses and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance and calibrations to ensure accurate and reliable performance.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in medical physics and radiation therapy technology, and implement new techniques and equipment as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all treatment plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Educate and train staff on radiation safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in research and development projects to advance the field of medical physics.
- Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines, including those set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for other medical professionals, providing expertise and guidance on complex cases.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout the treatment process.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
Certification By The American Board Of Radiology (Abr) Or American Board Of Medical Physics (Abmp).
Master's Or Doctorate Degree In Medical Physics Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Medical Physics Role.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Radiation Safety Regulations And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, And Ability To Work Collaboratively With Healthcare Professionals And Teams.
