- Utilize advanced knowledge and skills in medical physics to provide accurate and safe delivery of radiation therapy to patients.
- Oversee and perform quality assurance checks on all radiation therapy equipment and treatment plans to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with the radiation oncology team, including physicians, therapists, and dosimetrists, to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct radiation safety training for staff and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in medical physics and implement new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all treatment plans, equipment calibrations, and quality assurance checks.
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the radiation oncology team, including dosimetrists and therapists.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to radiation therapy.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to radiation safety and medical physics.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient care and safety by providing compassionate and empathetic support to patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities, such as conferences and workshops, to continuously enhance knowledge and skills in medical physics.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical and professional standards at all times.
Master's Degree Or Higher In Medical Physics Or A Related Field.
Certification By The American Board Of Radiology (Abr) Or American Board Of Medical Physics (Abmp).
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Clinical Medical Physics.
Strong Understanding Of Radiation Safety Regulations And Guidelines.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Collaborate With Healthcare Teams And Patients.
