- Lead a team of radiation therapists to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the radiation therapy department.
- Provide top-quality care to patients by administering radiation therapy treatments according to established protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate patient response to treatment, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Train and mentor new radiation therapists, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide excellent care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Act as a liaison between the radiation therapy department and other departments within the healthcare facility.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in radiation therapy technology and techniques, and implement changes as appropriate.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts within the radiation therapy team.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluation of radiation therapy staff.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of conduct.
- Serve as a role model and lead by example in providing compassionate and exceptional care to patients.
Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy: A Lead Radiation Therapist At Catholic Health Initiatives Should Possess A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy From An Accredited Institution.
Arrt Certification: The Candidate Must Be Certified By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Radiation Therapy To Be Considered For The Role.
State Licensure: A Valid State License To Practice Radiation Therapy Is Required For This Position. The Lead Radiation Therapist Should Also Be Familiar With All State Radiation Safety Regulations.
Minimum 3 Years Of Experience: Catholic Health Initiatives Requires At Least 3 Years Of Experience As A Radiation Therapist, With An Emphasis On Leadership And Management Skills.
Knowledge Of Treatment Planning Systems: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Treatment Planning Systems, Including But Not Limited To Eclipse, Aria, And Mosaiq. Experience With These Systems Is Preferred.
