Job Description

In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely collection and reporting of cancer data, while also mentoring and guiding a team of tumor registrars.   1. Accurately collect and report cancer data in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Lead and manage a team of tumor registrars to ensure high quality and efficient performance.
  3. Mentor and train team members on tumor registration processes and procedures.
  4. Monitor and ensure timely completion of data collection and reporting.
  5. Conduct regular audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
  6. Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to tumor registration.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and comprehensive cancer data collection.
  8. Provide guidance and support to team members in resolving complex issues related to tumor registration.
  9. Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the tumor registration process.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of cancer data collected and reported.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations when handling sensitive medical information.
  12. Serve as a liaison between the tumor registry and other departments within the healthcare organization.
  13. Ensure compliance with Catholic Health Initiatives policies and procedures.
  14. Act as a resource for other healthcare professionals regarding tumor registration and cancer data.
  15. Participate in professional development activities to maintain CTR certification and stay current with industry trends.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management, Public Health, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Cancer Registry Management, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Cancer Registry Standards, Guidelines, And Regulations, Including Those Set By The Commission On Cancer (Coc).

  • Excellent Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Tumor Registrars, Including The Ability To Train And Mentor Staff, And Effectively Manage Workflow And Priorities.
