As a Dialysis Specialist RN, you will play a crucial role in caring for patients with kidney disease and managing their hemodialysis treatments.   1. Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assessing and documenting patient responses.
  2. Perform and oversee hemodialysis procedures according to established protocols and standards, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with kidney disease.
  4. Educate patients and their families on the importance of adhering to treatment plans and managing their condition, including medication management, dietary restrictions, and lifestyle modifications.
  5. Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatments, reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  6. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to anticipate and address potential complications during hemodialysis treatments.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication administration, treatment plans, and nursing notes.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in hemodialysis treatment.
  10. Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring they receive compassionate and quality care that aligns with Catholic Health Initiatives' mission and values.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: The Ideal Candidate For A Dialysis Specialist Rn Position At Catholic Health Initiatives Should Possess An Active Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Is A Basic Requirement For Any Nursing Position And Ensures That The Candidate Is Qualified To Practice As A Registered Nurse.

  • Dialysis Experience: Catholic Health Initiatives Is Looking For Candidates With Previous Experience In Dialysis. This Could Include Experience Working In A Dialysis Center, Hospital, Or Other Healthcare Setting. Candidates With A Certification In Nephrology Nursing Would Also Be Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Dialysis Equipment And Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Dialysis Equipment And Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Dialysis Machines, How To Set Them Up, And How To Troubleshoot Any Issues That May Arise During Treatment.

  • Compassionate And Patient-Centered Approach: As A Dialysis Specialist Rn, The Candidate Will Be Working With Patients Who Have Chronic Kidney Disease And Require Regular Dialysis Treatment. It Is Important For The Candidate To Have A Compassionate And Patient-Centered Approach To Care, As This Can Greatly Impact The Overall Experience For Patients.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working As A Dialysis Specialist Rn Requires Collaboration With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Technicians, And Other Nurses. The Candidate Should Have Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Environment To Provide The Best Possible Care For Patients.
