Job Description

As a Communications Operator at Catholic Health Initiatives, you will play a crucial role in connecting our organization with patients, staff, and the community.   1. Answer and direct incoming calls and messages from patients, staff, and the general public in a professional and timely manner.
  2. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's services, policies, and procedures in order to effectively communicate accurate information to callers.
  3. Coordinate communication between departments within the healthcare system to ensure efficient operations and provide excellent customer service.
  4. Assist patients with scheduling appointments, accessing medical records, and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
  5. Monitor and respond to emergency calls and dispatch appropriate personnel as needed.
  6. Utilize various communication systems and software to maintain accurate records and documentation of all calls and messages.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement communication strategies to effectively promote the organization's services and events.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in order to continuously improve communication processes and systems.
  9. Provide support to staff and patients by troubleshooting communication issues and offering solutions.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive information.
  11. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance communication skills and knowledge of the organization.
  12. Handle challenging and/or high-stress situations with professionalism and composure.
  13. Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all callers and visitors.
  14. Adhere to all Catholic Health Initiatives policies and procedures.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
