  1. Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals and organizations in the film industry to create internship opportunities for students.
  2. Oversee the application and selection process for film internships, ensuring a fair and competitive process.
  3. Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and implement a comprehensive Los Angeles studies program that aligns with the university's mission and goals.
  4. Create and manage a budget for the film internships and Los Angeles studies program.
  5. Serve as a mentor and advisor to students participating in film internships and the Los Angeles studies program, providing guidance and support throughout their experience.
  6. Coordinate and lead informational sessions and workshops for students to prepare them for their internships and the Los Angeles studies program.
  7. Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the film internships and Los Angeles studies program, making necessary adjustments to ensure a valuable and impactful experience for students.
  8. Network and represent the university at film industry events and conferences to promote the film internships and Los Angeles studies program.
  9. Collaborate with other departments and initiatives within the university to integrate the film internships and Los Angeles studies program into the broader curriculum and student experience.
  10. Stay current on industry trends and developments to continuously enhance and improve the film internships and Los Angeles studies program.

  • Extensive Experience In The Film Industry: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In The Film Industry, With Experience In Various Roles Such As Producer, Director, Or Screenwriter. This Will Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Connections To Create Valuable Internship Opportunities For Students.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of The Los Angeles Film Scene: Since The Position Involves Overseeing Internships In Los Angeles, The Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The City's Film Industry, Including Its History, Current Trends, And Key Players.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As The Director Of Film Internships And Los Angeles Studies, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading And Managing A Team Of Staff And Student Interns. Therefore, They Should Possess Excellent Leadership And Organizational Skills To Effectively Oversee All Aspects Of The Program.

  • Excellent Communication And Networking Abilities: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Build And Maintain Relationships With Industry Professionals, Including Film Studios, Production Companies, And Alumni. They Should Also Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Students And Faculty To Coordinate Internship Placements And Facilitate The Los Angeles Studies Program.

  • Experience In Academic Administration: A Background In Academic Administration Or Relevant Experience In Managing Internship Programs Would Be Beneficial For This Position. The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of University Policies And Procedures And Be Able To Efficiently Handle Administrative Tasks Related To The Program.
