  1. Assist customers in finding their perfect vehicle by providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships.
  2. Utilize knowledge of the automotive industry and CarMax's inventory to effectively guide customers through the sales process.
  3. Meet and exceed sales goals and targets set by the company.
  4. Cultivate a positive and friendly atmosphere for customers, promoting a comfortable and enjoyable car buying experience.
  5. Continuously learn about new products, features, and benefits of CarMax vehicles to effectively communicate with customers.
  6. Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless and efficient sales process.
  7. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales, and inventory.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market changes, and competitors.
  9. Provide feedback and suggestions to management for improving sales strategies and customer experience.
  10. Uphold company values and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with customers and team members.
  11. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to sales techniques, proper vehicle presentation, and accurate pricing.
  12. Attend training and development programs to enhance sales skills and knowledge.
  13. Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet the needs of customers and the business.
  14. Maintain a neat and organized work area, including vehicles and office space.
  15. Comply with all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Successful Sales Consultant Must Have Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Customers And Team Members.

  • Prior Sales Experience: Previous Experience In A Sales Role, Preferably In The Automotive Industry, Is Highly Desired For This Position. This Includes A Proven Track Record Of Meeting Sales Targets And Providing Exceptional Customer Service.

  • Knowledge Of Automobiles: A Thorough Understanding Of Different Vehicle Makes And Models, As Well As Their Features And Benefits, Is Essential For A Sales Consultant To Effectively Assist Customers In Finding The Right Car For Their Needs.

  • Computer Literacy: As A Sales Consultant At Carmax, One Must Be Comfortable Using Various Computer Programs And Systems To Manage Customer Information, Track Sales, And Access Vehicle Information. Proficiency In Microsoft Office And Crm Software Is Preferred.

  • Availability And Flexibility: This Is A Part-Time Position That Requires Evening And Weekend Availability, As These Are Typically The Busiest Times For Car Buying. A Successful Sales Consultant Must Be Able To Work A Flexible Schedule To Accommodate Customer Needs.
