  1. Develop and implement fleet safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  2. Monitor and analyze data related to fleet safety, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver safety training programs for drivers and other employees.
  4. Conduct regular audits and inspections of company vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards.
  5. Oversee the maintenance and repair of company vehicles to ensure they are safe for operation.
  6. Communicate and collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure the timely and effective delivery of fleet safety services.
  8. Manage a team of fleet safety professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their success.
  9. Develop and maintain a budget for fleet safety and compliance activities, ensuring responsible use of company resources.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to fleet safety and compliance, and make recommendations for improvement.
  11. Investigate and report on incidents and accidents involving company vehicles, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  12. Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement emergency response plans for incidents involving company vehicles.
  13. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fleet safety and compliance activities, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  14. Serve as a company representative in meetings and discussions related to fleet safety and compliance.
  15. Uphold the company's commitment to exceptional customer service and represent the company's values in all interactions.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Fleet Safety And Compliance Management: A Director Of Fleet Safety & Compliance At Carmax Should Possess A Strong Background In Managing Fleet Safety And Compliance Programs, Preferably In A Large Organization.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Applicable Federal And State Regulations Related To Fleet Safety And Compliance, Including Dot Regulations And Osha Standards.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Director, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team And Collaborating With Various Departments Within The Company. Strong Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Director Of Fleet Safety & Compliance Will Be Expected To Analyze Data, Identify Trends, And Develop Strategies To Improve Fleet Safety And Compliance. Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills Are Critical For This Position.

  • Experience With Fleet Safety Technology: Carmax Utilizes Various Technologies To Monitor And Improve Fleet Safety, Including Telematics, Video Monitoring, And Collision Avoidance Systems. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With These Technologies And Be Able To Leverage Them To Enhance Safety And Compliance.
