- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of global regulations and industry standards related to food and agriculture products.
- Lead and manage a team of regulatory and scientific experts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that ensure compliance with regulations and standards while also meeting business objectives.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging regulatory and scientific trends and developments, and provide proactive recommendations to mitigate potential risks or leverage opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries and providing necessary documentation and information.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key regulatory agencies and industry groups to stay informed about changes in regulations and standards.
- Oversee the review and approval process for new products, ensuring all necessary regulatory and scientific requirements are met.
- Conduct audits and assessments of current processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Train and educate internal teams on regulatory requirements and standards, as well as any updates or changes in regulations that may impact our products.
- Serve as an advocate for the company, promoting our commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in the food and agriculture industry.
- Monitor and track regulatory submissions and approvals, ensuring all necessary documentation and information is provided in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and policies related to regulatory and scientific affairs, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Participate in industry conferences and events to stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement crisis management plans and protocols to address any potential regulatory or scientific issues.
- Act as a subject matter expert on all regulatory and scientific matters, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external partners as needed.
Advanced Degree In A Science Field: A Successful Candidate For A Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Leader Position At Cargill Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Relevant Science Field Such As Food Science, Nutrition, Or Chemistry.
Regulatory Knowledge And Experience: Cargill Is A Global Company With Products That Are Subject To Various Regulatory Requirements. As Such, A Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Leader Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Global Regulatory Frameworks And Experience Navigating Them.
Leadership And Management Experience: This Role Requires Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Oversee A Team And Collaborate With Other Departments And Stakeholders. Previous Experience In A Managerial Role Is Important.
Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Key Liaison Between Cargill And Regulatory Agencies, The Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Leader Must Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Effectively Represent The Company's Interests And Negotiate With Regulatory Bodies.
