- Develop and implement strategies for sourcing and procuring all plant-related materials for the beef production facility.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential cost savings and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast and plan for material needs based on production schedules.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for material procurement and inventory management.
- Oversee the receiving, inspection, and storage of materials to ensure quality standards are met.
- Work closely with production teams to understand material requirements and resolve any issues or delays.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to material procurement and storage.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of material procurement and inventory management professionals.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to material procurement and inventory management.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Represent the company in supplier meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Stay updated on industry and market trends to make informed decisions and drive innovation.
Knowledge Of Beef Industry: The Plant Material Manager Must Have A Strong Understanding Of The Beef Industry, Including Production Processes, Supply Chain Management, And Market Trends.
Supply Chain Management Experience: This Role Requires Experience In Managing The Supply Chain For Beef Production, Including Sourcing And Procurement Of Raw Materials, Logistics, Inventory Management, And Cost Control.
