1. Develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy that aligns with Cargill's business goals and values.
2. Build and maintain relationships with government officials and stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels.
3. Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that may impact Cargill's operations and provide timely updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
4. Serve as the primary contact for government inquiries and requests for information.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Cargill to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and advocacy efforts.
6. Represent Cargill at industry events, conferences, and meetings with government officials.
7. Provide guidance and support to regional teams on government relations issues and initiatives.
8. Conduct research and analysis on relevant policy issues and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
9. Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts and participate in industry associations and trade groups to stay informed and influence policy decisions.
10. Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other materials to senior leadership to inform decision making.
11. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in government relations and share knowledge with the team.
12. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
13. Maintain a positive and professional image of Cargill in all interactions with government officials and stakeholders.
14. Travel as needed to represent Cargill and fulfill job responsibilities.
15. Continuously evaluate and improve government relations strategies and processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
