  1. Design and implement scalable and reliable solutions on the Oracle and AWS platforms.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  3. Develop and maintain platform infrastructure using best practices and industry standards.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to platform performance, security, and availability.
  5. Conduct regular system audits and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance with security standards.
  6. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and make recommendations for their implementation.
  7. Create and maintain technical documentation for platform infrastructure and processes.
  8. Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers on the team.
  9. Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and standards are maintained.
  10. Identify opportunities for automation and work towards streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
  11. Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to integrate their solutions into our platform.
  12. Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress.
  13. Ensure the platform infrastructure is highly available and perform regular disaster recovery drills.
  14. Proactively identify and address potential security vulnerabilities and risks.
  15. Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance and implement necessary improvements.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Oracle Database Management: A Senior Platform Engineer At Capital One Must Have A Deep Understanding And Hands-On Experience With Managing Oracle Databases. This Includes Designing, Implementing, And Maintaining Database Infrastructure, As Well As Performing Performance Tuning And Troubleshooting.

  • Expertise In Aws Cloud Technologies: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Strong Background In Aws Cloud Technologies, Including But Not Limited To Ec2, S3, Rds, And Vpc. They Should Be Able To Design And Implement Highly Available And Scalable Solutions On The Cloud.

  • Proficiency In Scripting And Automation: As A Senior Platform Engineer, The Candidate Should Be Proficient In Scripting Languages Such As Python, Bash, Or Powershell. They Should Also Have Experience With Automation Tools Like Ansible Or Chef To Automate Routine Tasks And Improve Efficiency.

  • Knowledge Of Devops Practices: Capital One Values A Strong Devops Culture, And The Senior Platform Engineer Should Have A Good Understanding Of Devops Practices And Tools. This Includes Experience With Ci/Cd Pipelines, Infrastructure As Code, And Monitoring And Logging Tools.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: In This Role, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Identifying And Resolving Complex Technical Issues In A Timely Manner. They Should Have Excellent Troubleshooting Skills, Be Able To Think Critically, And Have A Strong Attention To Detail.
