  1. Lead a team of engineers to ensure the reliability and availability of Capital One's software systems.
  2. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of our systems.
  3. Conduct regular monitoring and analysis of system performance, identifying and addressing any potential issues.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions to improve system reliability and scalability.
  5. Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members, promoting best practices and ensuring high-quality code.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in software engineering, and make recommendations for adoption as appropriate.
  7. Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  8. Work closely with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  9. Ensure adherence to company and industry standards for security and data privacy.
  10. Participate in the hiring and onboarding process of new team members.
  11. Proactively identify and address any potential risks to system reliability, taking necessary actions to mitigate them.
  12. Collaborate with other senior leaders to establish and maintain technical standards and processes.
  13. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates on system performance and any potential issues.
  14. Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.
  15. Lead by example, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience In Software Development: A Senior Lead Software Engineer, Sre At Capital One Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Software Development Principles And Practices, With At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience In Building And Maintaining Large-Scale Software Systems.

  • Expertise In Sre And Devops Methodologies: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Site Reliability Engineering (Sre) And Devops Practices, Including Experience With Infrastructure Automation, Continuous Integration And Delivery, And Monitoring And Alerting.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Senior Lead, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Engineers And Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills, Including Decision-Making, Communication, And Conflict Resolution, Are Essential.

  • Technical Proficiency: Capital One Looks For Candidates Who Have A Strong Technical Background And Proficiency In Technologies Like Java, Python, Linux, Cloud Computing, And Containerization. Experience With Big Data Technologies, Such As Hadoop Or Spark, Is Also A Plus.

  • Problem-Solving And Critical Thinking Abilities: The Role Of A Senior Lead Software Engineer, Sre At Capital One Involves Solving Complex Technical Challenges And Making Strategic Decisions To Ensure The Reliability And Performance Of The Company's Systems.
