  1. Design and develop scalable data pipelines and systems to support data-driven decision making across the organization.
  2. Utilize your expertise in data engineering to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  4. Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data governance and data validation processes.
  5. Conduct data analysis and provide insights to inform business decisions.
  6. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and recommend improvements to current processes and tools.
  7. Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Lead and mentor junior data engineers on the team.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.
  10. Work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  11. Adhere to security and compliance standards while handling sensitive data.
  12. Continuously monitor and improve the performance of data pipelines and systems.
  13. Collaborate with other teams to integrate data from different sources and systems.
  14. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality and maintainable code.
  15. Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to other teams on data engineering best practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience In Data Architecture And Engineering: A Senior Data Engineer At Capital One Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Data Architecture Principles And A Proven Track Record Of Designing And Implementing Complex Data Solutions.

  • Strong Proficiency In Programming And Scripting Languages: This Role Requires Expertise In Multiple Programming Languages Such As Sql, Python, And Java, As Well As Experience With Scripting Languages Like Bash And Shell.

  • Knowledge Of Big Data Technologies: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Big Data Technologies Such As Hadoop, Spark, And Nosql Databases, And Be Able To Apply Them In Enterprise Environments.

  • Experience With Cloud Computing: Capital One Is A Cloud-First Company, And A Senior Data Engineer Must Have Experience Working With Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, Or Google Cloud.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Team, This Role Requires Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Stakeholders To Deliver Data Solutions That Meet Business Needs.
