  1. Develop and implement community finance strategies and initiatives that align with the company's overall mission and values.
  2. Lead and manage a team of underwriters, providing guidance and support in identifying and assessing high-impact loan opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential loan opportunities that align with the company's community development goals.
  4. Utilize strong underwriting and risk management skills to assess the creditworthiness and viability of potential loans.
  5. Make sound and informed decisions on loan approvals, ensuring they align with the company's risk tolerance and community impact objectives.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing loans and provide recommendations for adjustments or modifications as needed.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and leaders to stay informed about potential loan opportunities and community needs.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and trends related to community finance and impact investing.
  9. Collaborate with other departments and teams within the company to ensure alignment and coordination of community finance initiatives.
  10. Participate in community events and represent the company's commitment to community development and impact investing.
  11. Serve as a mentor and coach to team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  12. Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs to enhance the underwriting skills and knowledge of team members.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies related to community finance and impact investing.
  14. Act as a thought leader and advocate for community development and impact investing within the company and externally.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve community finance processes and procedures to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  16. Collaborate with senior leadership to create and present reports on the performance and impact of community finance initiatives.
  17. Represent the company in meetings and negotiations with potential borrowers, partners, and stakeholders.
  18. Act as a role model for ethical and responsible behavior in all aspects of the job.
  19. Proactively identify and address potential risks and challenges related to community finance

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Underwriting Community Finance Deals: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Successfully Underwriting Community Finance Deals, With A Deep Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Opportunities In This Market.

  • Strong Financial Acumen: The Director Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Financial Analysis And Be Able To Assess The Financial Health And Viability Of Community Finance Projects. They Should Also Have Experience In Developing Financial Models And Projections For Complex Deals.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory And Compliance Requirements: Community Finance Deals Often Involve Compliance With Various Regulations And Requirements, Such As The Community Reinvestment Act (Cra). The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of These Regulations And Be Able To Navigate Them Effectively.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: This Role Will Involve Working Closely With Internal And External Stakeholders, Including Community Organizations, Government Agencies, And Other Financial Institutions. The Director Should Have Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills To Build And Maintain Strong Relationships And Advocate For Capital One's Community Finance Initiatives.

  • Leadership And Team Management Experience: This Position Will Involve Leading A Team Of Underwriters And Analysts. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Managing And Developing A Team, As Well As The Ability To Provide Guidance And Support To Team Members To Ensure Successful Deal Execution.
