- Conduct thorough investigations into potential cases of money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud activities.
- Analyze data and trends to identify potential risks and make sound decisions to mitigate them.
- Stay up-to-date on AML regulations and ensure compliance with them in all investigations.
- Work independently and as part of a team to gather evidence and build strong cases against suspected individuals or entities.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, and other external partners to share information and collaborate on investigations.
- Identify and escalate any unusual or suspicious activities to the appropriate parties.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of investigations and actions taken.
- Utilize various tools and technologies to aid in investigations and data analysis.
- Train and mentor junior investigators on AML regulations and investigative techniques.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in processes and procedures related to AML investigations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Compliance and Legal, to ensure a cohesive approach to AML compliance.
- Represent the company in meetings and events related to AML investigations and compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and trends in AML investigations to continuously improve processes and strategies.
Extensive Knowledge Of Anti-Money Laundering (Aml) Laws And Regulations: A Successful Aml Sr. Investigator Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Aml Laws And Regulations, Including The Bank Secrecy Act (Bsa) And Usa Patriot Act, In Order To Effectively Identify And Investigate Potential Money Laundering Activities.
Experience In Transaction Monitoring And Fraud Detection: This Role Requires Experience In Transaction Monitoring And Fraud Detection, As The Aml Sr. Investigator Will Be Responsible For Reviewing And Analyzing Transactional Data To Identify Suspicious Activity And Potential Fraud.
Strong Analytical And Investigative Skills: The Aml Sr. Investigator Should Possess Excellent Analytical Skills And Be Able To Think Critically In Order To Identify Patterns And Trends That May Indicate Money Laundering Or Fraud.
Ability To Work Independently And In A Team: This Position May Involve Working Independently On Investigations, But Also Requires The Ability To Collaborate And Communicate With Other Team Members And Departments, Such As Compliance And Law Enforcement.
Attention To Detail And Ability To Manage A High Volume Of Cases: A Successful Aml Sr. Investigator Must Have A High Level Of Attention To Detail And The Ability To Manage A Large Volume Of Cases Simultaneously In Order To Effectively Identify And Investigate Potential Money Laundering And Fraud.
