- Oversee and manage all aspects of the distribution center operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping processes.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and processes to optimize distribution center efficiency and productivity.
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of orders to meet customer demand and satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels and prevent shortages.
- Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, and product development to ensure timely and accurate distribution of products.
- Analyze and report on distribution center performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements within the distribution center.
- Monitor and control distribution center budget, including labor costs, equipment expenses, and supplies.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in distribution technology to continuously improve operations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to promote teamwork and employee engagement.
- Represent the company and maintain positive relationships with third-party logistics providers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Handle any issues or concerns related to the distribution center promptly and effectively.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
Extensive Experience In Warehouse And Distribution Operations: A Distribution Center Manager At Canon Should Have A Minimum Of 5-7 Years Of Experience In Managing Warehouse And Distribution Operations, Preferably In The Technology Industry.
Strong Leadership Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Excellent Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team Of Warehouse And Distribution Staff. They Should Also Be Able To Delegate Tasks, Set Clear Goals And Provide Guidance To Meet Department Objectives.
Knowledge Of Inventory Management Systems: A Distribution Center Manager Should Have A Good Understanding Of Inventory Management Systems, Including Barcode Scanning, Stock Tracking, And Order Fulfillment Processes. Experience With Sap Or Other Erp Systems Is Preferred.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Data, Identify Areas For Improvement, And Implement Solutions To Optimize Warehouse And Distribution Operations. The Candidate Should Possess Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Address Any Issues That May Arise.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Key Liaison Between Different Departments And Teams, The Distribution Center Manager Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Others And Build Positive Relationships. They Should Also Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Concisely With Upper Management And External Stakeholders.
