- Develop and teach courses in the psychiatric/mental health field for the Nurse Practitioner Field Study program at California State University San Marcos.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for students, providing guidance and support in their academic and clinical experiences.
- Design and implement hands-on field study experiences that provide students with practical, real-world learning opportunities.
- Facilitate discussions and activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and evidence-based practice in psychiatric/mental health care.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to promote their growth and development.
- Stay current with developments and advancements in the psychiatric/mental health field, incorporating them into curriculum and teaching materials.
- Collaborate with other faculty members and professionals in the field to enhance the program and promote interprofessional education.
- Support and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and clinical settings.
- Maintain professional competence through continued education and participation in professional organizations.
- Participate in program and university meetings, committees, and other activities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the program.
Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Nursing With A Focus On Psychiatric/Mental Health.
Current Licensure As A Nurse Practitioner In The State Of California.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Nurse Practitioner In Psychiatric/Mental Health Field.
Demonstrated Experience In Teaching Or Clinical Supervision Of Nurse Practitioner Students.
Knowledge Of Current Evidence-Based Practices And Trends In Psychiatric/Mental Health Care.
