- Design and implement highly efficient and reliable network architecture for the California Institute of Technology.
- Ensure seamless connectivity and maximum efficiency for all research and academic activities.
- Maintain and monitor the institute's complex network infrastructure to ensure its optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions and downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans for network optimization and future growth.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their implementation to enhance network performance.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure network security and compliance with industry standards.
- Train and mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance and support.
- Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams for easy reference and troubleshooting.
- Assist in budget planning and procurement of network equipment and services.
- Communicate and coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely and effective resolution of network issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and emergency situations.
- Act as a subject matter expert for all network-related matters and provide guidance to other teams as needed.
- Continuously analyze network performance and make recommendations for improvement to enhance user experience.
- Uphold the institute's values of innovation, excellence, and collaboration in all network design and maintenance efforts.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Network Design And Implementation.
Expertise In Network Protocols And Technologies Such As Tcp/Ip, Bgp, Mpls, And Ospf.
Strong Understanding Of Network Security And Experience With Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, And Other Security Measures.
Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Collaborate With A Team On Complex Network Projects.
