
Elevator Technician
Perform planned and corrective maintenance on all conveyances (traction, hydraulic, and drum) and lifting equipment. Respond to trouble calls dispatched from Service Desk, Campus Security, Central Utility Plant and Building occupants. Troubleshoot and repair all malfunctions. Perform upgrades and installations of new equipment on conveyances to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act and safety regulations. Perform and maintain up to date records for all safety inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs. Provide written and oral reports effectively.
Trade school or apprenticeship training
Five years journeyman level experience repairing and maintaining all forms of conveyances
Demonstrated experience with Motion Controls Engineering (MCE), Schindler, OTIS, O’ Thompson and Smart Rise conveyance controls
Ability to work various shifts as well as overtime and weekends
Possess and Maintain a valid, City of Los Angeles, Journeyman Elevator Mechanic license throughout employment
