Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) as our Director of Alumni Communications and Marketing Programs.   1. Develop and implement comprehensive alumni communications and marketing strategies to increase alumni engagement and support for the university's goals.
  2. Create and manage a budget for alumni communications and marketing initiatives.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and leverage opportunities for alumni involvement and support.
  4. Oversee the production of alumni communications materials such as newsletters, emails, social media content, and other digital and print materials.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with alumni to cultivate their involvement and support for the university.
  6. Utilize data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of alumni communications and marketing efforts and make adjustments as needed.
  7. Plan and execute events and programs that foster alumni engagement and promote the impact of Caltech.
  8. Serve as a brand ambassador for Caltech, effectively communicating the institution's values, mission, and achievements to alumni.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in alumni relations and marketing to continuously improve strategies and tactics.
  10. Manage a team of communication and marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  11. Represent Caltech at alumni events, conferences, and other networking opportunities.
  12. Develop and maintain strong relationships with alumni volunteers and alumni associations.
  13. Collaborate with the development team to identify and cultivate potential donors among alumni.
  14. Ensure all alumni communications and marketing efforts align with the university's brand and messaging guidelines.
  15. Prepare reports and presentations on alumni engagement and marketing efforts for senior leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Alumni Communications And Marketing, Preferably In Higher Education.

  • Strong Understanding Of Alumni Engagement Strategies And Experience Developing And Implementing Successful Alumni Communication Campaigns.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Diverse Audiences And Stakeholders.

  • Proven Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team, As Well As Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams And External Partners.
