- Oversee and manage all aspects of facilities operations and services at the California Institute of Technology.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and policies to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding facilities management, safety, and sustainability.
- Lead and mentor a team of facility managers, technicians, and support staff to ensure high-quality services and operations.
- Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to identify and address facility needs and priorities.
- Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective and responsible use of resources.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality in all facilities.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and effective completion of maintenance and construction projects.
- Implement and maintain systems and protocols for emergency response and crisis management.
- Stay informed about industry developments and best practices in facilities management, and make recommendations for improvement and innovation.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the facilities department.
- Communicate regularly with university leadership and relevant stakeholders to provide updates on facilities operations and seek input and feedback.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and partners to support the institute's facilities goals and initiatives.
- Represent the institute in facilities-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Facilities or university leadership.
Bachelor's Degree In Facilities Management, Engineering, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 7 Years Experience In Facilities Management, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Various Departments.
Extensive Knowledge Of Building Systems And Maintenance, Regulatory Compliance, And Budget Management.
Experience With Project Management, Strategic Planning, And Implementing Sustainable And Energy-Efficient Practices.
